From Z to A (on a B)

As of 3 days ago, I am looking at the world from a totally new perspective.
It's been about 20 years since I last owned a bike so you can understand my joy and enthusiasm at treating myself to this new baby. After some riding around the 'hood just to get a feel of it, on the morning of May 1st (Labour Day on this side of the Atlantic) I hit the road for some serious biking. Survived the initial shock of freewheeling down the Ustanicka Street, then crossed the nearly deserted downtown, crossed the Branko's Bridge and struggled to get through the throngs of people to get to the end of Zemun Quay. It was way to busy to take pictures, so I turned back and hit the 5.1 km route from Zemun to Ada Ciganlija and practically crossed Novi Belgrade...
It seems that on this May 1st, Belgraders were already working hard (at their BBQs), as is the usual practice. More on that later, but for the time being... it's peace and quiet.

Passing over the highway en route to the boat to Ada, I had to stop and take a look at the Western Gate and the direction to my 2nd home in Bosnia (or the 1st, depending on how you look at it).
That was as far as I could go on my bike.

A short boat ride and a 100 dinars later...
I was back on Ada, arguably the most-liked R&R spot in and around the White City.
As soon as you land on Ada, you are greeted by this beautiful nymph...
Daphne - a tribute to  Momo Kapor, one of the most popular and prolific modern Serbian novelists who passed away two years ago.  "I wonder at the people who sell wine. What better can they buy with the money?" is just one of my favorite quotes of his.
